Jose Mourinho Exited Madrid After Winning 4-2 from Osasuna

REAL MADRID NEWS
José Mourinho polarises opinion and, faithful form, the apparently Chelsea - bound coach was cheered and jeered in equal measure as he complete 3 years in charge of Real Madrid with a 4-2 home win against Osasuna.

Played out before a two-thirds full Bernabéu stadium with Real Madrid second in La Liga, adrift 0f the champions Barcelona, it absolutely was not the finale the 50-year-old Jose Mourinho might have envisaged. Despite having 3 years remaining on his contract, Jose Mourinho agreed to depart by "mutual consent", the divorce evidently suiting each parties.

After breakup with the Spanish media, t0 not mention certain key players, Jose Mourinho has talked longingly regarding England as a place where he "is loved" and also the agreement along with his former employers at Chelsea seems just about done and dusted.

Before Sat's game he issued a brief farewell statement on Real Madrid's web site, reflective on 3 continuously turbulent and sometimes triumphant years in charge.

"I would like all of Real Madrid's supporters much happiness within the future," Jose Mourinho said. "I wish to give thanks several fans for his or her support, and that i respect the criticism of others. I repeat, happiness to any or all, and particularly, good health. Hala [Forward] Real Madrid!"

After the win against Osasuna – in which Cristiano Ronaldo's absence because of a supposed "back strain" prompted fevered speculation that Manchester United's former favorite son might be poised for a Premier League come back – Jose Mourinho progressed from the technical space, arms aloft, before waving to the fans and disappearing down the tunnel one last time.

Earlier he had waited till the last possible moment prior to the kick-off before emerging and quickly settling into the dugout. soon, he ventured out of his seat and was instantly engulfed by photographers. security staff were needed to usher them away.

The reception from home fans embraced various "political" positions, as well as Real Madrid's ultras, who brandished signs emblazoned with messages like "Thanks f0r everything, Mou" and chanted his name. Another section of supporters whistled !n protest, largely upset with the manager's treatment of certain players, the team's lack 0f major titles this season and also the Portuguese's claims that he's not "loved" in Spain.

After securing the Copa del Rey in his 1st season and also the La Liga title in his second, Mourinho and Madrid parted following a 3rd campaign that saw only the Spanish Supercup added  to the trophy cabinet. As if bowing 0ut at the semi-final stage of the Champions League for a 3rd consecutive year beneath the previous Porto, Chelsea and Internazionale coach wasn't bad enough, Real Madrid trailed Barcelona from the beginning of the season and lost the Copa del Rey final to fierce rivals Atlético Madrid.

In a damning 1ndictment arguably more damaging than the less than wonderful trophy haul, Mourinho has been heavily criticised by supporters and journalists alike for his persistent benching of Iker Casillas, Real Madrid's goalkeeper and captain.

In recent months he has fallen out with different players, as well as Pepe, but other Madrid players made clear their need to wish Mourinho well for the longer term. "Manny thanks for everything. it's been a pleasure," the defender Alvar0 Arbeloa tweeted.

If his Real Madrid exit was rather less glorious than hoped f0r, at least he signed 0ff with a win. Gonzalo Higuaín, captaining a s1de miss1ng variety of regulars, opened the evaluation with Real's 100th goal of the season.

Next Michael Essien, 0n loan fr0m Stamford Bridge, headed in a corner and sprinted across to dedicate the goal to Mourinho, who brought him to Real following the injury issues that undermined his Chelsea career.

Osasuna, also with nothing left t0 play for, reduced the deficit courtesy of a r4king, low shot from R. Torres. Alvar0 Cejudo then headed an equaliser.

No matter. Superlative ability on Mesut Ozil's part came upon Karim Benzema for Real Madrid's third goal before José Callejón completed the scoring in the 87th minute.

As like his w0nt, Jose Mourinho exited, stage left, a champi0ns.
